What an exquisite amazing dress that seems to almost breathe and smile! Spiraling ruffles and the lightest, softest cotton batiste combine to make this christening gown magic. Gorgeous extra wide lace is placed in rows forming the yoke of the dress. Long, wide lace insertion forms a beautiful vee-shape at the center of the bodice. The edges of the lace strips are trimmed with matching gathered lace edging. The center panel is made of organdy in order to contrast with the rest of the gown. More extra-wide lace joins the two fabrics together, providing an excellent boundary for the beautiful embroidery. Lace bands also embellish the front panel and wide gathered lace is attached to the hemline with entredeux. The rest of the hem is embellished with folded tucks running in line with the lace rows in front. The back is as gorgeous as the front, closing with three shell buttons and a stunning, almost transparent organdy sash. Angel sleeves of lace edging complete this unbelievalbe creation.

This superb project consists of glorious hand embroidery techniques such as shadow work, eyelets, padded satin stitch, and buttonhole padded satin stitch. Machine techniques include lace to lace, gathered lace to lace, lace to entredeux, and many others, each duplicationg the hand-sewn techniques so well, only an expert will be able to decipher the difference. In spite of all the trim, the gown is delicate and balanced and even prettier in person.

Kit contains Swiss batiste, cotton organza, almost 20 yards of lace, entredeux, DMC stranded embroidery floss, Floche, shell lbuttons, needles, pattern, and detailed instructions.
