This lovely light-weight, baby jacket was used to keep baby cozy when wearing lightweight gowns or christening gowns. Just as useful today, it can be worn over a modern romper or leggings to dress up an otherwise casual outfit. Working from an antique Circa 1890 gown, technqiques of long ago are recreated. This pretty little jacket has a rounded neckline with a Peter Pan style collar of contrasting fabric. Loosely cut long sleeves are tied together with silk satin ribbon threaded through handmade openings. The back of the jacket features a large box pleat, with embroidered flowers on either side of the pleat.

The embroidery consists of shadow work and lazy daisy flowers with eyelet centers. Althought the antique garment features the palest embroidery imaginable, yours will be more pastel in hue and will feature adorable baby motifs as well as bows and swags. Beautiful lace edging is applied to the collar, cuffs, and hemline of the darling garment and attached with Point de Paris stitch by hand. Lace insertion adds sophistication and elegance to the ultra feminine design.

Kit contains Swiss batiste, pink satin batiste collar fabric, lace edging, lace insertion, silk satin ribbon, nine colors of Floche, handsewing thread, Beeswax heart, needle, pattern, and detailed instructions.
