This little suit is cuter than a baby chick and very appropriate for your littlest lad. Working with gorgeous English Pinpoint Oxford cloth, we turn shirting fabric into something wonderful when making this little two-piece suit. The shirt is styled with the most unusual yoke treatment imaginable. The crisscross belt-like tabs join the two yoke sections to the shirt base. The base itself is styled with large folded pleats, which neatly tuck into the formed waistband of the matching knickers. A stay-belt holds the pleats in place permanently. Vintage inspired yellow mother of pearl buttons of Wendy’s design attach the short knickers to the shirt seamlessly. The shirt is sweetly embellished with the cutest baby chicks, embroidered and realistically shaded using the technique of thread painting. The crisscross tabs are held together with matching yellow chick mother of pearl buttons, designed especially for this project. The cuffs and collar of the coordinating mock undershirt are accented with hand-stitched grouped buttonhole stitches adding a handsome accent to the otherwise plain edge. Several smaller yellow mother-of-pearl buttons adorn the undershirt of the outfit. This is one more adorable tailored suit to add to your list of stitching accomplishments.
