Shadow Work embroidery is an easy way to embellish your French sewn garments and linens. One of the most admired methods of stitching in Shadow work is the adorable animal shaped designs more commonly used on infant wear. The focus of this project is on this particular form of Shadow embroidery.
It is my belief that knowing where to begin is as much of a mystery to students as knowing how to begin the stitching. In this lesson, you will learn to decipher the elements of the design into simple geometric shapes, simplifying the forms and mode of stitch direction. You will learn the simplest route to travel when stitching a circle, square, triangle, and marquise shape. This technique will enable you to apply the learned technique to somewhat oddly shaped areas.
