What better way to express your love than making this precious christening gown? This Madeira inspired creation consists of lovely embroidered flowers using a variety of techniques worked entirely in white by hand. Gorgeous, perfectly formed lazy daisy flowers with eyelet centers are arranged in clusters of tiny sprigs of fragrant flowers. Pearly Granitos and satin stitched leaves provide an abundance of beauty to the center motif of the skirt. Lovely stem stitching provides balance between the puffs of embroidered blossoms while matching flowers are sprinkled on the bodice and sleeves accenting the style reminiscent of the 1940's. Further accenting the gown, are contrasting fabrics joined together forming a Madeira Applique scalloped hemline and sleeve embellishment. The contrasting applique hems are attached to the base garment with Applique Cord worked by hand, defining the curves. This gown is constructed of gorgeous imported organdy with handkerchief linen applique hem in brilliant white with tatted edging. The high yoke is accented with a scalloped organdy overlay and a silk satin ribbon sash. A matching slip and bonnet are included with this classic design.
