Classic styling is the key to this sweetly styled confection. This lesson brings a bit of Madeira to your sewing repertoire. You will study the technique of joining two fabrics together with the Point de Paris stitch, while following the curved lines of the design. The slightly gathered skirt of the gown consists of beautiful dotted Swiss voile combined with Swiss batiste. Two rows of gathered lace-edging borders the hemline of the long gown and sleeves. Entredeux borders the yoke and also is used to attach the dotted Swiss puffed sleeves. A matching bonnet is styled with a large band on front embellished with matching embroidery and a dotted Swiss base. Dreamy dotted French lace adorns the edges of the band. This is a gown befitting a baby princess and I know you will love making it while learning this enchanting technique. Finished length is approximately 27".
